Les auteurs
Katell Berthelot est historienne, spécialisée dans l’étude du judaïsme à l’époque hellénistique et romaine. Chercheur au CNRS et rattachée au Centre Paul-Albert Février depuis 2002, elle a passé quatre ans au Centre de recherche français de Jérusalem (CNRS | MAE) de 2007 à 2011. Elle avait déjà résidé en Israël lors de ses 2e et 3e années de thèse (université Hébraïque de Jérusalem | Centre Orion d’études qumrâniennes), grâce à une bourse du gouvernement israélien. Diplômée d’HEC à 21 ans, Katell Berthelot est également titulaire d’une maîtrise de Lettres modernes. Après un voyage en Israël dans les années 90, elle change donc de voie et se lance dans un DEA d’histoire à Paris IV puis, dans une thèse sur "Israël et l’humanité dans la pensée juive à l’époque hellénistique et romaine" soutenue en 2001 et publiée en 2003 chez Brill. Katell Berthelot est médaillée de bronze du CNRS (2007) et lauréate du prix Irène Joliot-Curie Jeune femme scientifique de l’année (2008). Elle assure depuis 2006 la co-direction de la collection La Bibliothèque de Qumrân aux Éditions du Cerf (traduction et étude des textes de Qumrân).
Matthias Morgenstern est chercheur à l’European Association for Jewish studies.
